Six reasons Snapchat could be the key to your company’s success

The power of Snapchat has exploded in recent years and it could very much be worth having a Snapchat account for your business. Snapchat is a free mobile messaging app which is used to share photos, videos, text and drawings.

Since its release five years ago, Snapchat has grown in tools and following and now boasts an impressive 30 million monthly active users, with 400 million snaps sent each day. Businesses are now jumping on the Snapchat bandwagon and see it as the perfect way to communicate with a younger audience. After all, only 2% of Snapchat users are over the age of 55.

Here are six reasons why you should consider getting a company Snapchat.

1. Behind the scenes
Snapchat allows you to take followers beyond your services and allows them to learn about you and the people behind the brand and company. By using Snapchat, you can take clients and customers behind the scenes. Have a different employee take charge of the Snapchat every day, so the follower can get to know each person at your company and what their job is. Snapchat is an excellent opportunity to show your followers how different you are to your competitors.

2. Deliver private content
Not everyone is keeping an eye on an email about some exciting news your company has. Take to Snapchat and tell them there. It will be much more personal than coming from a press release and you can show just how excited you are. For example, if your company is moving into a new office, show your followers around. Alternatively, if there is someone new in your office, introduce them to your clients on your Snapchat.

3. Access to events
If your company hosts or goes to many networking events, you can show your followers just how great they are via Snapchat and encourage them to come along. By giving your followers a look into what you and your colleagues get up to, it will push them to get involved too and show up to future events.

4. Get followers involved
Create a community on Snapchat between your company and followers and make them want to view your story when they’re on the app. It could be worth running a competition or something similar to get your followers involved. For example, you could ask your followers how happy they are that it’s Friday or encourage them to show you what they’re up to that day.

5. Makes you more casual
If you work at an accountants or law firm, people could automatically assume that the company is very corporate and not very creative. By showing them a more casual side to your company, you will appear more normal and relatable. Although this may not work for every company, but if you’re trying to ditch a boring stereotype, Snapchat could work for you.

6. More personal
Snapchat makes everything a bit more personal as followers don’t see who else your snap is going to, so it feels more like you are talking to someone directly. This is something you can’t get on other social media. Followers are more likely to use your services as they feel like they know you as they have seen your Snapchat activity.
