Solicitors’ firms announce merger

Hodge Hill-based Carvers Solicitors has strengthened its east Birmingham presence, combining with Ward End-based Eyre & Co Solicitors.
The merger will see Carvers become the biggest solicitors in east Birmingham, and sees the longstanding Eyre & Co – originally set up by former Hall Green MP Sir Reginald Eyre – join forces with Carvers to boost their already large conveyancing, probate and private client departments.
Nigel Wood, senior partner at Carvers, said: “Eyre & Co is a long-established law firm with a rich history. This merger brings together two complementary law firms, each with considerable expertise in private client law. It will result in a bigger firm with an increased pool of expertise that can continue to offer competitively priced personal client service.”
Eyre & Co partner Andrew Rimmington, plus all other Eyre & Co staff, become part of Carvers. The enlarged group will retain Eyre & Co’s Ward End office alongside the existing Carvers office.
Andrew Rimmington, partner at Eyre & Co, added: “It will be business as usual for all existing clients, with the added benefits of a wider range of services. We look forward to the long future our firms have secured by joining forces.”
