Oh yes it does…Birmingham Hippodrome announces panto cast
BIRMINGHAM Hippodrome has announced the line-up of star names it hopes will secure another successful panto season.
Last year’s record-breaking and highly acclaimed Aladdin, which starred Marti Pellow, was seen by more than 19,000 people and the theatre is hoping that this year’s show – Dick Whittington – will prove just as popular.
Following a record-breaking and highly acclaimed season with Aladdin, seen by over 119,000 theatregoers, the home of Birmingham pantomime this year presents an unmissable production of the rags-to-riches tale Dick Whittington.
Taking top billing is Doctor Who, Torchwood and Arrow star John Barrowman, who will be again demonstrating his all-round entertainment skills alongside EastEnders’ star Steve McFadden, comedy-duo The Krankies, and Matt Slack – who is returning to the Hippodrome stage for a fourth successive panto season. Also returning is panto dame Andrew Ryan.
Barrowman is no stranger to the Hippodome – or its panto – having appeared in previous productions including Aladdin and Robin Hood.
Producer Qdos Entertainment is once-again promising a blend of comedy, outrageous costumes, dazzling sets and scenery, and some amazing special effects.
The panto begins on Monday December 19 and will run until Sunday January 29, 2017.
