The best of Britain
Britain’s best athletes will descend on Birmingham this weekend as they compete in the British Championships at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. Not only will athletes compete to be crowned British championship, they will also earn a place on the team for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Over 600 talented athletes from across the country will compete over the weekend and 20 finalists will compete in a three-hour programme on Sunday. Find out more here.

Stafford Castle will play host to Stafford Festival Shakespeare this weekend with the classic tragic tale of Othello. One of theatres most powerful stories will be performed in the open air against the beautiful backdrop of the castle and it is set to be a magical evening. Armed Forces DayShow your support
Head into Birmingham city centre on Saturday to show your support for National Armed Forces Day. The event will kick off with a Drumhead Service on Broad Street which will be attended by the Navy, Army, Air Force, Royal British Legion and veterans. The celebrations will continue afterwards in Centenary Square where there will be entertainment, street food and drink, stalls, displays and a number of workshops to get involved in. Jazz FestivalJazz hands at the ready!
Celebrate the sounds of jazz this weekend at Upton upon Severn at their annual jazz festival. There will be a wide selection of stalls, food and drink as well as having an impressive line-up throughout the weekend. There will also be dance classes to get involved with as well as an enjoyable Saturday parade.
