Birmingham nightclub is instant success with city revellers

BIRMINGHAM’S newest and biggest club is proving a big hit with revellers, celebrating its 20,000 visitor just two weeks after launch.

PRYZM, in Broad Street, opened its doors last month following a £1.4m investment by operator the Deltic Group.

General manager Peter Cro said: “We have been blown away by the response to PRYZM.  It’s always a nervous moment when you open your doors for the first time and wonder what the reaction is going to be like, but we knew we had created something special and thankfully the people of Birmingham think so too.”

The venue includes a main arena, showcasing the latest light and sound technology; Curve, a more intimate room with DJs playing the latest R&B chart tracks, House, which plays pure house music and Vinyl, a retro disco room with flashing dance floor.

The club also has 52 booths and a party room that can be hired for private parties.

Last weekend also saw the launch of PRYZM Nottingham, which followed an £800,000 investment by Deltic.

The club attracted 4,000 partygoers, with celebrity DJs Mark Wright, Pat Sharpe and Marvin Humes making guest appearances on the Friday and Saturday night.

There are now seven PRYZM clubs in the UK, the first was Bristol, followed by Brighton, Cardiff, Kingston upon Thames and Leeds, and now completed by Birmingham and Nottingham.
