Horse of the Year Show to return to the city

BIRMINGHAM’S Genting Arena is set to host Horse of the Year Show’s 70th anniversary in 2018 after it was selected as the show’s home for the next three years.

With 1,600 horses and 60,000 spectators, a 15,700 capacity arena, ancillary exhibition halls, the arena is the ideal setting for the HOYS annual event.

This year’s HOYS will be held over five days in October and will host the national finals for the showing and showjumping Championships, alongside international showjumping and an exciting line-up of equestrian entertainment.

General manager of the Genting Arena, Guy Dunstan said: “September will mark our 15th year of hosting the annual HOYS.

“In this time the show has developed into one of the highlights of our event calendar, having brought in over half a million visitors through our doors.”

The Arena has renewed their contract after hosting HOYS for the past 15 years with sister venue, the NEC.
