NEC Group is just the ticket for exhibition organisers

THE ticketing arm of the NEC Group has been boosted with the award of eight new exhibition contracts.

The Ticket Factory has benefitted after two of the UK’s largest exhibition organisers opted to switch their ticketing contracts to the business.

Upper Street Events, the leading UK-based consumer events company, has moved its entire portfolio from Interchange to the Ticket Factory, including NEC-based events, The Cycle Show, Festival of Quilts and The Gadget Show Live. Upper Street Events will now use The Ticket Factory to ticket for 18 of its events.

E-gaming specialists, Multiplay, has followed suit, moving its rapidly growing portfolio of international Insomnia events from ticket agency rival Eventbrite. Last year more than 100,000 people attended Insomnia with more planned for 2016.

The Ticket Factory has also secured contracts with The Photography Show 2016, BRICK LIVE 2016 – the UK’s largest LEGO exhibition, Kidtropolis, The Family Pet Show 2016 and the only large-scale consumer science exhibition in the UK, New Scientist Live.

Additionally, it has won the contract for Can You Dance?, the UK’s first touring dance convention. The convention will use The Ticket Factory to ticket all seven of its regional events.

These events join The Ticket Factory’s existing exhibition roster which includes Haymarket (Autosport International and The Clothes Show), River Street (BBC Good Food and BBC Gardeners’ World Live), Crufts and Motorcycle Live.

Commenting on the contract wins, Stuart Cain, managing director of The Ticket Factory, said: “These nationwide and international account wins are born out of our ability to combine e-commerce and digital marketing competencies with the experience we’ve gained in exhibitions as part of the NEC Group.

“Many of these new wins have international aspirations which allows us to implement our multi-currency, multi-lingual solution.  It also smashes the myth that we can’t compete with some of the sexier ‘tech’ companies such as Eventbrite.”
