Logistics company bought as part of fast-growth strategy

SOLIHULL company AYS has been bought to create a growing logistics group with a 100-strong workforce.
Carousel Logistics, based in Kent, has ambitions to double its £17m turnover within four years and has added AYS to bolster its West Midlands operations.
AYS’s 36 employees, including managing director Jane Weaver, will join Carousel as part of a rebranded division. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Ms Weaver said: “Carousel has a 30 year track record in the industry and this acquisition is a great match, bringing together two expert providers which both continually look for innovative ways to advance their service offerings and add value to the customer.”
“We have worked with Carousel for more than 10 years, and during this time we have supported it with its engineer and aftermarket logistic solutions, proving to be a reliable and trusted supplier in their partner network.
AYS’s services focus on time-critical and express deliveries, warehousing, specialist two-man deliveries. Its experience in the agriculture, renewables and medical device sectors fits with Carousel’s own existing offer.
Carousel’s chief executive Graham Martin said the group would benefit by “bringing AYS’s expertise in-house” and said the acquisition was a “critical part” of its growth.
