Birmingham firm set for relocation in multi-million-pound expansion

A BIRMINGHAM firm is set to relocate as part of a £3.5m expansion plan.
Reynaers, which designs aluminium doors, windows, curtain walling and façades, has opted for a new base after outgrowing its existing premises in Kettles Wood Drive, Woodgate Valley.
The firm has settled on a new base in Hollymoor Way, Rubery and has appointed Birmingham-based chartered surveyors Pennycuick Collins to project manage the extension and refurbishment of the 53,000 sq ft premises.
Adrian Roddick, partner at Pennycuick Collins, acquired the premises on behalf of the manufacturer and has been commissioned to lead the project.
Refurbishment work has now started and is anticipated to be complete by the end of the year.
Mr Roddick said: “I have developed a good working relationship with Reynaers since I first acted for the company back in 1998 in project managing the construction of its existing premises.
“We also project-managed an extension there eight years later, so we were delighted when we were asked to find Reynaers a new home and were then appointed (to) project manage this exciting new chapter in the company’s history.”
The new, extended premises, the former base of automotive component firm Dräxlmaier, will create an additional 20,000 sq ft of warehouse space and an extra 9,500 sq ft of office space to accommodate the firm’s future needs.
John McComb, director of technical services of Reynaers, said: “Our new premises gives us about two and half times the office and warehouse space we have at the moment.
“We have some exciting new products that are coming to market this year, and we have plans to increase our stock levels, enabling us to offer industry-leading levels of customer service. The move will pave the way for further sales growth over the coming years, and we expect that this will mean employment opportunities, too.”
Halesowen-based A&H Construction has been appointed to undertake the building work, while Birmingham-based D5 Architects has drawn up the plans for the new facility.
