Moseley Folk Festival returns

One of the highlights of Birmingham’s outdoor music events calendar takes place this weekend.

The Moseley Folk Festival is always popular with music fans and this year is likely to be no exception.

Once again taking place in Moseley park, the three-day event features some top names.

Headlining tonight (Friday) are The Levellers, while also on the bill is singer and social commentator Billy Bragg.

The Coral will be hitting the stage tomorrow (Saturday) joined by the likes of Songhoy Blues and Phosphorescent, the moniker of Alabama native – now Nashville resident – Matthew Houck.

Moseley Folk FestivalThen on Sunday, Scottish twins The Proclaimers will headline and supporting will be Sam Beam (of Iron & Wine) and Jesca Hoop, plus The Jayhawks.

Organisers have tried to find something for everyone but the one thing they don’t have any control over is the weather, which true to form promises rain, although there should be some sun as well along the way.

So, better keep those umbrellas and wellies handy.
