Black Country manufacturer turns to US trade show to win new business

A BLACK Country manufacturer is looking to the United States to secure new business.

Alloy Wire International has heeded post-Brexit calls to look for new business outside the EU by heading to an important trade show in Chicago.

The firm, based in Brierley Hill, produces round, shaped profile, wire rope and electrical resistance wire.

Its technical expertise, an ever increasing range of high performance alloys and fast lead times has recently seen the firm secure its 250th customer in the spring manufacturing sector.

Many of its products are used in highly sensitive sectors, such as nuclear, oil and aerospace.

It is also no stranger to exports having a flourishing overseas business, with customers in 40 countries.

It is looking to increase that by taking part in the CASMI Springworld 2016 exhibition, which takes place October 5-7.

It will be the firm’s tenth time at the show and its involvement this year will be its biggest ever.

Angus Hogarth, sales director at Alloy Wire International, said: “Export is half of our total sales and we have offices in 40 countries, with the aim to forge more strategic partnerships going forward.

“We have a long track record supplying spring makers all over the UK, the US, Canada and the rest of the world.

“They use AWI because of our ongoing technical help, advice and our extensive stock range means we can supply all these alloys in just two weeks of the order being placed.”

He said Springworld was a good way to meet existing and new customers, as well as a platform to promote the firm’s latest advances in wire manufacturing.

This year has seen the firm take on another three members of staff – including one apprentice – to cope with increased demand from the EU, US and the Far East.
