A STRONG performance from the Birmingham office of MHA MacIntyre Hudson has helped the accountancy group to a 13% rise in full year revenues.

The group has offices in 14 around the country and the combined revenues for the full year are £50.6m.

The achievement has seen the group move up to 16th place in the list of top 20 accountancy firms in the UK.

The Birmingham practice’s contribution benefited from its acquisition of Edgbaston-based Shoesmiths earlier in the year, which further strengthened both its client portfolio and service offering.

Chris Barlow, partner at the Birmingham office, said: “As a firm we are not driven by league tables but it is a very useful benchmark for monitoring our progress but of course it’s very pleasing to feature in the UK’s top 20 firms based on our 2016 financial performance.

“We are more pleased by the fact that the breadth and depth of the work we are doing for clients is translating into quantifiable results. MHA MacIntyre Hudson in Birmingham continues to raise its profile and presence in the local market and the acquisition of the highly regarded Shoesmiths earlier in the year demonstrates our commitment to grow and develop in this region.”

MHA MacIntyre Hudson is also celebrating after being shortlisted in two categories in this year’s British Accountancy Awards, with the firm’s Tax and Audit teams nominated in their respective categories.
