Warwickshire attracts new sponsorship deals for cricket’s climax

WARWICKSHIRE will be hoping to round-off a disappointing cricket season on a high tomorrow (Saturday) when the team contests the final of the Royal London One-Day Cup at Lord’s.

After a mediocre county championship and the disappointment of missing out on T20 finals day at its home ground in Edgbaston, the club will be keen to cheer travelling fans.

To mark the event, the club has secured a special commercial partnership deal with Dubai-based real estate brokers Herald Land.

Herald Land, which specialises in property investment opportunities within the UK, will have its branding on back of the playing shirts worn by captain Ian Bell and the rest of the Warwickshire team.

Gareth Roberts, Commercial Director at Warwickshire CCC, said: “The Royal London One-Day Cup Final is one of the biggest occasions in the domestic cricket calendar and it will be a fantastic day for the team, our supporters and partners.

“It’s great to see the playing squad’s achievement, in reaching this final, recognised through this new commercial partnership with Herald Land and we look forward to working with the team and hopefully developing new opportunities in the future.”

The game will be the 19th final that Warwickshire has played at Lord’s and it is also the club’s fourth final at the home of cricket in the last six years, following a win in 2010 and runner-up finishes in 2012 and 2014.

Bob Clarke, managing director of Herald Land, said: “Warwickshire are one of the most successful county cricket clubs in the country and for Herald Land to be part of the playing shirt at a major final, in-front of a big crowd and television audience is a fantastic opportunity.”

Birmingham-based digital display technology provider, Elonex is also capitalising on the occasion with a personalised sponsorship of Warwickshire and former England batsman, Jonathan Trott.

The sponsorship deal will see Elonex branding featured on the reverse of Trott’s bat for the game, which is set to be played out in front of a sell-out crowd and to millions watching on Sky Sports TV.

Elonex has a long association with the club having been shirt sponsors of the Birmingham Bears when they won the NatWest T20 Blast in 2014.

The firm is also the official LED and Technology partner, and Exclusive Sales Partner for LED advertising at Edgbaston Stadium.
