Airline joins elite Black Country business group

AIRLINE Emirates has become the first carrier to join an elite group of businesses within the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.

In signing up to the chamber’s Platinum Group Service Sector, the airline joins professional service firms and founder members of the group, FBC Manby Bowdler and MHA MacIntyre Hudson, together with BCRS Business Loans, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, NatWest and Lawrence Cleaning.

The new group has been spun out of the chamber’s existing Platinum Group, which is predominantly for members within the manufacturing, automotive, logistics and freight & transport sector.

The service sector arm is intended to represent the interests of firms in specific areas of the sector such as tourism and leisure, travel, accountancy, law, banking, training, health & safety, insurance, architects and education.

The groups work together to identify core interests and share best practice. Working in partnership with a qualified executive coach, The Platinum Group Service Sector allows CEOs and managing directors to process issues and analyse each other’s strategy in a confidential peer to peer environment, where fellow members act as a trusted board of advisers.

Caroline Hughes, senior corporate sales executive at Emirates, said: “We are delighted to be joining this new group and have the opportunity to widen our relationships with local executives in a collaborative environment. We are looking forward to working with the group to develop our corporate relationships and to ensure we meet the needs of the region’s businesses.”

Gail Arnold, head of the Platinum Group, said: “We are really pleased with the response we have received from the service businesses to the new group. We are proud of the success of the Platinum Group and its record of delivering growth for its members, and we are confident that we can replicate this within the service sector.”
