Independent heritage store expands designer wares

A FAMILY run business specialising in men’s heritage brands is expanding its horizons aiming to become the only shop in Birmingham to stock outdoor clothing for men, women and children under one roof.

No.50 have had a strong year, opening their first bricks-and-mortar store on Grand Central’s doorstep this July and now, adding to their list of designer wares both in store and on their website.

Whilst the business, located at 50 Pinfold Street, will remain primarily a menswear store selling designer brands, it will now stock everything from women’s Komono watches and Peregrine knitwear to Hunter boots and backpacks for children.

Co-owner, Jordan Quinn said: “Our store is like our home at the end of the day, we want people to come in and feel like its homely and relaxed when they’re shopping but also have that tailored service.

“We want to evolve it to stock more independent brands, move into homeware stuff, grow our online offering and bring a personality to that which I think people like to see these days, they like to see a story behind the brand and see that there’s somewhere to physically shop as well.”

Brothers, Jamie and Jordan Quinn started their business online in 2011 and have since built a brand around selling designer labels with heritage, such as Timberland, Calvin Klien, Peregrine, Gant and many more.

“Back then not a lot of people were going online, so we started to build our own brand profile and started sourcing our own brands and selling them online but we always wanted to have our own store in our hometown and bring something different to the city,

“We tend to work with brands that have a story to tell, much like ourselves. There’s obviously a reason they’ve been around quite a while and that’s because what they do serves a purpose.”
