1. Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas market
Date: Thursday 17th November – Thursday 29th December
Location: City centre, Birmingham

Birmingham is set to come alive again this winter as it marks the first weekend of the hugely popular annual German market. With over 120 authentic German stalls selling everything from Christmas gifts to traditional German food and drink, there is something for everyone.

Pretzels, schnitzels, bratwursts, and roasted almonds will tempt your tastebuds, all of which can be washed down with gluhwein, weissbeer, or tasty hot chocolate!

Location: The Parade, Royal Leamington Spa

Experience the beauty of Royal Leamington Spa as its magically lit up during the festive lead-up this weekend. Enjoy the bustling Christmas market along the Parade from 11am and find some unique Christmas gifts before the entertainment begins at 1pm on the Touch FM stage. Expect a mix of festive music, performances and even a traditional carol service to really get you in the Christmas spirit. The lights will be switched on at 5pm!

Location: Hippodrome, Birmingham

Based on the smash-hit film and adapted for the stage by Oscar-winning writer Simon Beaufoy, this hilarious and heartfelt production stars Gary Lucy, Anthony Lewis, Andrew Dunn, Louis Emerick, Chris Fountain, Kai Owen and a cast of fourteen.

Not only has the play been getting standing ovations every night, but it was also voted best touring production by the UK Theatre Awards.

Date: Tuesday 15th – Saturday 19th November
Location: The Core Theatre, Solihull

A first for Solihull, this amusing musical is based on the 1980 hit movie of the same name, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. The story follows the working lives of three girls in the office of Consolidated headed by their boss, Franklin Hart Jr. These ladies have different reasons to dislike him but none the less fantasise about his demise at their hands…

Date: Saturday 19th – Sunday 20th November
Location: NEC, Birmingham

If films, comics, sci-fi, gaming, anime or cosplay are your thing, you won’t want to miss out on the MCM Birmingham Comic Con. Brought to you by the team behind MCM London Comic Con, the largest event of its type in Europe, Birmingham Comic Con is a weekend-long celebration of all things great and geeky. Meet special guests from the worlds of TV and film, explore a Comic Village packed with artists and writers, take part in competitions, watch on-stage panels and enjoy the colourful costumes of the Cosplay Masquerade.

Guests at recent shows include cast from Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.
