Franchise business looks to clean up

THE Stafford branch of domestic cleaning company Merry Maids has been bought following the retirement of its previous owners.
Ian Thomas has been supported in the five-figure deal by Royal Bank of Scotland.

Merry Maids Stafford currently services 205 homes within a radius of up to 20 miles from Stafford and Mr Thomas has recruited two more members of staff ahead of the expected growth.
He now wants to grow the business and is targeting 16% growth in revenues by moving into Cannock, Rugeley and Hednesford.
In the UK there are over 100 Merry Maids franchises, each independently owned and operated.
Mr Thomas, owner of Merry Maids Stafford, said: “I used to work for Merry Maid’s parent company Servicemaster who specialise in offering commercial cleaning services.  When I saw that the opportunity to acquire my local Merry Maids branch had arisen I knew I had to take it and I am so pleased that my acquisition has been a success.
“Merry Maids Stafford is already a very well performing business and we intend to carry on offering the same great service to our customers.”
