Architects draw up plans for expansion into West Midlands

ARCHITECT firm Maber has moved into the West Midlands after setting up an office on Colmore Row.

The move to Birmingham city centre will see six jobs created and the office will be headed up by managing director Mark Hobson and associate David Brooks.
The practice has recently completed eight schools as part of the West Midlands Priority Building School Programme, a 280,000 sq ft headquarters and advanced manufacturing facility for Controls and Data Services, part of the Rolls-Royce Group, located on Birmingham Business Park, and the WMG Academy for Young Engineers in Solihull.

Maber says it is currently looking at numerous student accommodation and PRS opportunities in the city.

Mark Hobson, managing director at Maber Architects, said: “Key to our ongoing success has been the recruitment of high calibre staff, cross sector expertise, providing a first class service and positioning ourselves as a creative, design-led practice. The opening of our new Birmingham office will allow us to continue to grow and deliver first class buildings for our clients.

“We have developed a robust business plan that will guide our next phase of development, and the opening of this new office reflects our ambitions for further growth and our confidence in the potential of the Birmingham market.”
Established in 1983, the practice has grown organically and now employs more than 60 staff with its headquarters in Nottingham and additional offices in London, Leicester and Derby.
