5 things to do in the West Midlands this weekend

1. Chicago the Musical
Date: Monday 12th – Saturday 31st December
Location: New Alexander Theatre, Birmingham
This weekend presents the perfect opportunity to see the international award winning Broadway and West End musical, Chicago as it takes to the stage in Birmingham for just three weeks. With West End and Celebrity Big Brother star John Partridge as Billy Flynn, Dancing on Ice winner and Coronation Street star Hayley Tamaddon as Roxie Hart and the UK’s very own Soul Queen Mica Paris as Matron ‘Mama’ Morton.
Based on real life events back in the roaring 1920s, nightclub singer Roxie Hart shoots her lover and along with cell block rival, double-murderess Velma Kelly, they fight to keep from death row with the help of smooth talking lawyer, Billy Flynn.
2. Beauty & the Beast pantomime
Date: Friday 2nd – Friday 31st December
Location: Royal Spa Centre, Leamington
Treat the kids to the pantomime adaptation of this classic fairytale this month and discover if Beauty and her friends can outwit the arrogant bully Eugene and his odious sidekick Pimple to lift the handsome prince’s curse.2. Christmas Concert

Location: Coventry Cathedral
Don’t miss this year’s celebration of the festive season full of carols and Christmas music for all the family with the Cathedral choristers, Coventry and Warwickshire Youth Orchestra, Saint Michael’s Singers and special guest, Jaguar Land Rover Championship Brass Band! With all proceeds going to the NSPCC, the Christmas concert is a great way to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
3. Coca-Cola Truck
Date: Saturday 17th December
Location: St. Martin’s Square, Birmingham
The festive season is well and truly underway, especially as the Coca-Cola truck will be driving into Birmingham this weekend. For the sixth consecutive year, the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour will be returning to the UK giving families the chance to have their photo taken with the iconic truck. Visitors will also enjoy a refreshing coke from the truck itself before witnessing a special after-dark surprise.
5. Battle Banquet
Date: Friday 16th – Saturday 17th December
Location: Warwick Castle
Travel through the Royal Weekend Party guided by knights as they recount the story of the Earl of Warwick this weekend. Watch as the knights battle it out for the title and enjoy live entertainment throughout the night as you work your way through a three course banquet served at the Georgian Coach House.
