Dutch manufacturer sets up new operation in the Black Country

A Dutch manufacturer is expanding into the West Midlands after agreeing a deal on new premises in the Black Country.

Atami specialises in the production, distribution and sales of minerals, fertilizers and substrates for the horticulture industry.

It has let a 30,000 sq ft newly-refurbished unit at the Junction 2 Industrial Estate, off Demuth Way, Oldbury.

The site is close to the main junction of the M5 and will enable the company to have quick access to the region’s motorway network.

The company serves the demand for liquid plant nutrition, bio-stimulators, and substrates, both for the experienced and the hobby grower.

The company, founded in 1997, now has a customer base spread over more than 40 countries.

The letting deal was completed by Harris Lamb.

Neil Slade, director in Harris Lamb’s Agency team, said: “We are delighted to have overseen the letting of this refurbished unit on behalf of Logicor to Atami. It’s no secret that good quality warehouse stock within the Black Country is in high demand and that with a lack of new industrial stock in the region, units that are refurbished to a high standard are particularly desirable.”

Richard Phillips, Portfolio Director, UK, Logicor, said: “I am delighted to welcome Atami as a tenant to the Logicor Oldbury estate. The estate is well located at the foot of Junction 2 of the M5, providing excellent access to the UK motorway network. It is a prime location for businesses looking to establish a central hub for local, regional or national operations.”

Two units remain vacant at the 145,000 sq ft Logicor Oldbury estate: one 20,000 sq ft warehouse and one 40,000 sq ft warehouse. Both units have been fully refurbished.
