Enterprise buys Shropshire company

CIVIL engineering and maintenance contractor Enterprise has bought a Shropshire-based company specialising in working at heights for an undisclosed sum.
Access Hire Services provides contractors who provide arboricultural maintenance as well as substation and overhead power line managed services – mainly to UK power network operators.
It has 62 staff and in the year ending March 31 had revenues of £3.6m. Enterprise already has contracts with many of the same clients and said the acquisition was “consistent with the group’s strategy to broaden the range of services it provides to its customers”.
The business will be integrated with Enterprise’s existing operations, which will allow the firm to offer Access’s services over a broader geographical area.
Enterprise CEO Neil Kirby said: “Access is a very experienced organisation which we are pleased to welcome to Enterprise.
“Its performance track record and the essential nature of its work enhances the integrated services we provide to the growing UK power sector.”
