THE Lord’s Taverners charity is staging a special Christmas Sporting Lunch at Warwickshire Country Cricket Club’s Jaguar Suite in December.
The event, which is being hosted by television sports presenter and president of The Lord’s Taverners in the West Midlands Gary Newbon, is set to be a fitting finale to the charity’s fundraising in its Diamond Jubilee Year.
The Sporting Lunch, which takes place on Thursday December 2, is a regular on the charity’s annual fundraising events calendar and set to attract a great line-up of sporting names and supporters.
Mr Newbon said: “I always enjoy hosting this event, which is without fail a very special and enjoyable lunch, not least as it feels a great start to the festive season here in Birmingham.
“As in previous years, I have invited many personal friends, many of whom are high profile sports people.
“Previous guests of the Christmas Sporting Lunch have included John Motson, Eddie Irvine, Martin O’Neill, Richard Keys, Andy Gray, Chris Eubank and Neil Back, and this year will once again see an exciting line-up.
“However, in line with tradition, our celebrity guest list won’t in fact be unveiled until the event itself – but I can say, for sure, we will be well-entertained.”
Trevor Foster, regional chairman for The Lord’s Taverners in the West Midlands, added: “This is one event not to be missed, for both its enjoyment and networking opportunities.
“Not surprising therefore tickets are selling fast – we only have nine tables left so for anyone who doesn’t want to miss out on this great charity lunchtime event, and a very relaxed and fun afternoon which is ideal for entertaining clients and business contacts, they are advised to book their places early.”
The Christmas Sporting Lunch takes place from 12.30pm to 4.00pm with individual tickets priced at £50 and £500 for a table of 10.
