eg secures new contract with South African customer

FINANCIAL software supplier eg solutions has secured a £750,000 contract with one of South Africa’s leading investment administration companies.

More than two thirds of the contract’s value is expected to be realised during eg’s current financial year, which ends of January 31, 2011.

The announcement boosted the firm’s share price with early trading seeing a rise of more than 3%.

The South African company, which provides outsourced healthcare services, is an existing customer of Staffordshire based eg.

eg said the initial implementation was undertaken with the client’s Medical Aid offices in Braamfontein.  The new contract, for eg’s operational intelligence system, will be used in the firm’s Pretoria office, which administers South Africa’s Police Medical Aid Scheme. It will see the system used by a further 300 workers.

Elizabeth Gooch, eg chief executive, said: “This contract win extends the use of our solutions in one of South Africa’s leading outsourcing companies.  The initial implementation, started in October 2009, delivered 32% cost benefit which the client was keen to extend to other areas of their business.”
