Shaun Baugh – Director

Shaun is an experienced Quantity Surveyor who joined Wakemans in 1987.  

With almost 30 years’ experience as a senior Quantity Surveyor Shaun’s remit has covered the full service package both pre and post contract.  This includes, estimating, preparation of Bills of Quantities, schedules of work and contract documentation, financial control and reporting during construction, preparing recommendations for interim payments, measuring and valuing work, preparation of final accounts and assessing validity and value of contractual claims.  In particular his pre-contract experience includes, preparing tenders, reporting on tenders and preparing contracts.  Post-contract duties include cost control and reporting, preparation of interim valuations agreement of final accounts and capital allowance exercises.  

Shaun also has a unique area of expertise covering, project management, agreement for lease negotiation, estate acquisition, property maintenance and Spanish construction.  As director responsible for the Travelodge portfolio he has tailored the Wakemans service package to fulfil a varied and complex brief.  This has included developing property maintenance strategies including the implementation of the Travelodge in-house maintenance team, managing major refurbishment and refit projects across property portfolios and working to develop a hotels expansion into Europe.

Shaun was instrumental in facilitating the acquisition and re-branding of the Inn Keeper Lodge Estate from M&B to add 50 new properties to the Travelodge portfolio.  Other significant projects for the hotel chain included setting up the Travelodge In House Maintenance team to provide a workforce of over 120 operatives. He has also project managed the major refurbishment of Travelodge hotels across the UK involving 34,000 bedrooms, this project was undertaken over a 34 month year period with a total spend of over £100 million.
