Craemer, a company that supplies half of the UK\u2019s wheelie bins, is investing \u00a325m in a second production facility that will boost its output by 40% and create 45 new jobs in the area.<\/p>\n
The firm, which has a turnover in excess of \u00a330m, has invested in a new 13-acre site that opened in the spring of this year and will take its UK headcount from 75 to 120. The expansion is the result of new product launches and an increase in demand.<\/p>\n
Originally established in Germany in 1912, Craemer has been manufacturing plastic bins, pallets and transport containers in Telford since 2006.<\/p>\n
As well as its UK market it also exports around 30% of its goods to international buyers in Europe, the UAE and the US.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor the past 13 years, we\u2019ve been combining German technology with the quality and innovation of British manufacturing,\u201d said Steve Poppitt, managing director of Craemer UK.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe investment in our second production site marks a new chapter for our business as we look to enter new markets like the private waste industry and expand our operation in Telford.\u201d<\/p>\n
