With a prominent line-up of TV execs and guest speakers, the fourth edition of the Birmingham Film & TV Market (BFTM) is taking place this week.<\/p>\n
A statement from the BFTM team said the expo is presenting “its most ambitious programme to date”. The four-day industry expo will combine seminars, workshops, networking, pitching and job opportunities.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the BFTM EXPO 2025 will welcome major industry bodies and executives from across the UK\u2019s film and TV industry to Birmingham. The move is said to strategically position Birmingham as one of the leading hubs for film & TV in the country.<\/p>\n
Industry leaders and organisations taking part include BBC Writers Room, BFI Global Screen Fund, Create Central, West Midlands Combined Authority, Department for Business & Trade and PACT, who will lead a range of panels and talks.<\/p>\n
A long-term partner of the market, Film Shed, is returning to the region. And additionally, new partners this year include Birmingham City Council, Department for Business and Trade, and Create Central. The market also has the continued support of its Birmingham-born ambassador, actor and director Adrian Lester.<\/p>\n
The programme includes a Pitching & Producing Day on 24 June, Writing & Development Day on 25 June, and Job Fair on 26 June.<\/p>\n
The BFTM team, led by Midlands-based filmmakers Sophie Ivanova, Mellissa Donello and Louise Osbourne, said: “We\u2019re committed to building real opportunities and raising Birmingham\u2019s profile on the global stage by empowering its creative talent. We aim to fuel the region\u2019s growth and cultural vibrancy by fostering talent, creating jobs, and attracting investment. Through collaboration and support, we can shape a brighter, more inclusive future for Birmingham and the Midlands, amplifying its unique voice and vision.\u201d<\/p>\n
