Secure Trust Bank (STB) has marked its expansion into bridging finance with the appointment of Jamie Jolly into the new role of head of bridging.<\/p>\n

Jolly, who has over 25 years of industry experience, will lead the new arm, which is set to complement its existing real estate finance division.<\/p>\n

The move is part of the bank\u2019s strategic decision to secure repeat business and higher conversion rates, growing its broker base in the process.<\/p>\n

Over the next year, he plans to build a team with significant collective expertise that operates with the agility and culture of a dedicated bridging business but retains the trust and solidity Secure Trust Bank has become known for over 10 years as a specialist real estate lender.<\/p>\n

Jolly\u2019s experience includes helping to build Hampshire Trust Bank\u2019s (HTB) bridging division as director of bridging between 2022 and 2024.<\/p>\n

Prior to this, he was managing director at bridging lender SoMo. STB\u2019s product portfolio now includes land bank and development exit loans for residential and mixed-use properties. The former also extends to purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) schemes. Loan sizes range between \u00a32m and \u00a320m and have a term of three to 24 months.<\/p>\n

Jolly said: \u201cExpanding into bridging finance is a major step forward for Secure Trust Bank. By complementing our existing product portfolio, our trusted brokers have more options to serve their clients\u2019 various lending needs. We understand that no deal is the same, which is why all parties succeed when people deeply understand the product and the process. Fletchers Solicitors has announced the appointment of Alison Flaherty and Phil Barnes as directors within its clinical negligence practice.<\/p>\n

Alison Flaherty is a long-standing senior leader at Fletchers and leads specialist teams handling complex spinal, brain injury and amputation claims.<\/p>\n

She has played a central role in shaping the firm\u2019s approach to supporting seriously injured clients and their families, consistently delivering high-quality outcomes across some of the most challenging clinical negligence cases.<\/p>\n

In addition to her casework leadership, Flaherty leads Fletchers\u2019 collaborative work with NHS Resolution and its Solicitor Panel, developing constructive, solutions-focused relationships aimed at achieving fair and timely outcomes for claimants.<\/p>\n

Her appointment formally recognises her contribution to the development, reputation and strategic direction of the clinical negligence practice.<\/p>\n

Phil Barnes brings more than 25 years of experience representing patients and families affected by serious injury.<\/p>\n

He is widely respected within the sector for his work on complex, high-value birth injury, brain injury and spinal injury claims, and is known for his calm, strategic approach and unwavering focus on client care.<\/p>\n

Following Fletcher\u2019s acquisition of the Shoosmiths Serious Injury team earlier this year, Barnes has played a key role in integrating colleagues across Birmingham, Northampton and Reading, supporting the creation of a cohesive, nationally connected practice.<\/p>\n

Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Matthew Harris as a partner in its intellectual property and technology practice group in Birmingham. He joins the firm from Gowling WLG.<\/p>\n

Harris is a commercial technology lawyer advising clients on strategic technology matters and complex transactions.<\/p>\n

He supports organisations on IT and outsourcing arrangements, digital transformation projects, software development and licensing, SaaS, data commercialisation, artificial intelligence, as well as technology and data regulation, including data privacy.\"\"<\/p>\n

He has more than 10 years of experience across the retail, telecommunications, energy and manufacturing sectors, among others.<\/p>\n
