Birmingham property management agency Fishers has secured a \u00a3345,000 business loan to support expansion following the acquisition of another local firm.<\/p>\n
The Harborne-based business has acquired Whittle Estates & Property Services, with funding provided through the Midlands Engine Investment Fund II via fund manager Frontier Development Capital.<\/p>\n
Fishers currently manages around 600 properties for more than 250 landlords and employs 12 staff. Following the acquisition, its portfolio will increase to approximately 750 properties across more than 350 landlords.<\/p>\n
The deal will also allow the owners of Whittle Estates to focus on their sales business, Hadleigh Estate Agents.<\/p>\n
Founded in 1913 by George Fisher, the company originally operated from Birmingham city centre, specialising in lettings across the city\u2019s Edwardian suburbs.<\/p>\n
The agency remained in family ownership for more than 80 years and maintains close links with the Fisher family.<\/p>\n
Current owners Dean Taylor and Kay Venables, both long-standing employees, acquired the business through a management buy-out in 2020. The firm has since opened a second office in Stourbridge to expand its reach into the Black Country.<\/p>\n
