A former cemetery office in Birmingham is set to go under the hammer as part of Birmingham City Council\u2019s ongoing plan to sell surplus assets.<\/p>\n
The Lodge Hill Cemetery Office, on the corner of Weoley Avenue and Weoley Park Road, will be offered with a new 125-year lease, subject to a peppercorn ground rent, with a guide price of \u00a335,000+.<\/p>\n
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe said: \u201cThis is the first cemetery office we have been instructed to offer in all the thousands of lots we have sold. The property could suit a variety of uses, subject to planning permission, including residential. One possibility is that it could be converted into a coffee shop selling flowers, balloons, and other in memoriam materials.\u201d<\/p>\n
The building, part of the Lodge Hill Cemetery and Crematorium complex, includes a reception\/office area, kitchenette, WC, and storage rooms.<\/p>\n
Interested parties are advised to consult Birmingham City Council\u2019s Planning Department and note that the freehold may also be available once lease obligations, including fencing and independent access, are met.<\/p>\n
