A Birmingham-based signage and visual communications business has relocated to a new industrial facility, marking the completion of a three-year development strategy under its current ownership.

Previously based on Great Charles Street for more than three decades, the company has moved to a 2,000 sq ft unit at Gravelly Industrial Park on Tyburn Road.

Relocation follows its acquisition in 2023 by father-and-son team Nigel and Tom Gilpin, who set out a phased plan focused on stabilising operations, retaining key clients and transitioning into a more suitable production environment.

New premises nearly double operational space and introduce an open-plan layout aimed at improving workflow and efficiency.

Dedicated vehicle bays also enable on-site, temperature-controlled vehicle wrapping for the first time, alongside expanded showroom space to support client engagement.

Business serves a broad mix of sectors, including education, healthcare and retail, with relocation expected to strengthen delivery capability while maintaining proximity to Birmingham’s commercial centre.

Tom Gilpin, managing director of FASTSIGNS Birmingham said: “After over three decades on Great Charles Street, this move represents three years of hard work and determination. Since taking over the business in 2023, my father and I recognised that to truly grow our operations and meet the visual signage demands of Birmingham’s vibrant business community, we needed a space that could grow with us.

Our new location gives us the best of both worlds. We remain incredibly close to the heart of Birmingham’s business community, but with the added benefits of easy access, no ULEZ restrictions and the space to house the latest signage technology. It’s an exciting new chapter that will allow us to deliver even better results for the local businesses over the next 30 years!”

John Davies, FASTSIGNS UK managing director said: “It is fantastic to see Tom and Nigel taking such a proactive, strategic approach to the Birmingham territory. Relocating a business with 30 years of history is no small feat, but this new facility is a testament to their vision for the future.

“Tom has shown incredible dedication to learning the industry since 2023 and by moving to this impressive new site, the team is now perfectly positioned to set a new standard for signage solutions in the Midlands. I look forward to seeing what they achieve in this new space.”
