A long-established community pharmacy in Tamworth has been sold to an existing local operator following a confidential sales process.<\/p>\n
Magrath Pharmacy, which operates from a busy health centre in Glascote Heath, dispenses around 10,000 items per month and has served the local community for more than five decades.<\/p>\n
The transaction was handled by Christie & Co.<\/p>\n
The business had been owned by the Magrath family since its establishment in 1971, most recently under Andrew Magrath, who took over in 2018. The sale allows him to focus on clinical work and other areas within the pharmacy sector.<\/p>\n
The buyer is Kieran Eason, who also owns Eason\u2019s Pharmacy in Tamworth, consolidating his presence in the local market.<\/p>\n
Carl Steer, director of Pharmacy at Christie & Co said: \u201cAndrew got in touch to start thinking about selling, as he had designs on spending more time on the clinical side of pharmacy and wanted to focus on other areas of interest within the sector. Within a short period of time, we were asked to market the pharmacy confidentiality and quickly attracted two offers, agreeing on a sale to Kieran within four weeks. The market remains buoyant for quality pharmacies in Staffordshire, with sales recently completing in the county and more to follow.\u201d<\/p>\n
