Voltempo and Corpay have entered into an exclusive strategic partnership to introduce a new commercial model for charging electric trucks and vans. <\/p>\n
It brings together Voltempo\u2019s network of depot-based charging infrastructure with Corpay\u2019s fleet payments platform, EV charging network and energy procurement capabilities. <\/p>\n
The integrated model is designed to link charging access, payment systems and electricity supply within a single framework.<\/p>\n
The companies state that the approach could reduce barriers to electrification by allowing fleet operators to access charging and energy services without the need for significant upfront investment in depot infrastructure.<\/p>\n
Voltempo, which leads the UK Government-backed eFREIGHT 2030 consortium, is developing a network of high-power charging hubs at logistics depots. <\/p>\n
Through its Depot Charging as a Service (D-CaaS) model, the company installs and manages infrastructure on behalf of site owners, connecting depots into a wider network accessible to multiple operators.<\/p>\n
Under the partnership, Corpay\u2019s platform will enable selected fleet operators to locate, book and pay for charging across the Voltempo network using existing EV charge cards, including Allstar Chargepass, within a single billing arrangement.<\/p>\n

The companies will also procure electricity on behalf of customers from third-party suppliers, using a \u201cbunkering-style\u201d approach intended to provide greater cost predictability and energy resilience. <\/p>\n
Combined with Voltempo\u2019s infrastructure model, this is expected to offer a more scalable route to fleet electrification while reducing exposure to non-commodity costs.<\/p>\n
Depots with installed charging infrastructure will be able to make unused capacity available to other operators, creating potential additional revenue streams and improving overall utilisation of assets.<\/p>\n
