Health and beauty retailer Bodycare has returned to the UK high street with six new store openings following its acquisition out of administration in October 2025.<\/p>\n
The retailer has secured sites at Merry Hill in Dudley, Derbion in Derby, The Moor in Sheffield, Highcross in Leicester, The Mall in Blackburn and St. John’s in Leeds.<\/p>\n
These locations were selected based on their historic trading performance and form part of the initial phase of the brand\u2019s relaunch, with Newmark acting as sole adviser.<\/p>\n
Bodycare entered administration in September 2025 after a period of financial pressure driven by rising operating costs, high rents and declining footfall.<\/p>\n
Administrators closed more than 140 stores after failing to secure a buyer for the business as a whole. The company, originally founded in the 1970s, had also faced challenges linked to a difficult online transition and supplier pressures.<\/p>\n
The brand was subsequently acquired by a new company led by Charles Denton, former CEO of The Body Shop, with plans to re-establish a national retail presence.<\/p>\n
The current rollout forms part of a strategy to open between 30 and 50 stores by 2026, with longer-term ambitions to scale further.<\/p>\n
As part of the relaunch, stores are being introduced under a new \u201cBodycare Studio\u201d format, designed to support product discovery and repeat visits.<\/p>\n
The concept includes features such as in-store demonstration areas, digital screens and content-led spaces aligned with the brand\u2019s social media activity.<\/p>\n

The response from the industry to date has reinforced our confidence to scale quickly and we are looking forward to welcoming customers back as soon as possible.
