{"id":2111476,"date":"2026-05-06T17:53:04","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T16:53:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/?p=2111476"},"modified":"2026-05-06T17:53:04","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T16:53:04","slug":"greenfield-site-sold-for-affordable-housing-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/news\/2111476-greenfield-site-sold-for-affordable-housing-scheme","title":{"rendered":"Greenfield site sold for affordable housing scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A residential development site in Badsey, Worcestershire has been sold to Bromford Flagship LiveWest, with plans for a fully affordable housing scheme on the 8.9-acre plot.<\/p>\n<p>The greenfield site at Brewers Lane benefits from outline planning permission for up to 75 dwellings, granted in December 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The consent includes contributions towards community transport, education, sports facilities and primary healthcare, alongside a policy-compliant provision of 40% affordable housing.<\/p>\n<p>The land was promoted by Northern Trust Land Ltd under a promotion agreement with the landowners dating back to 2018. Savills, acting as marketing agent, ran a competitive disposal process that attracted interest from a range of housebuilders and registered providers.<\/p>\n<p>Bromford Flagship LiveWest has acquired the site with the intention of delivering a 100% affordable housing scheme.<\/p>\n<p>John Tootell, strategic land director at Northern Trust Land said: \u201cWe are delighted to have completed the sale of our Brewers Lane site to Bromford Flagship LiveWest. Having commenced promotion of this site in 2018, it is hugely rewarding to have secured planning permission and now placed the site in the hands of a developer to deliver the vision. It is especially rewarding to see the site being brought forward as a 100% affordable housing scheme. This will make a meaningful contribution to meeting local housing needs in Badsey and the surrounding area, delivering real benefits for the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Catherine Jarrett, regional director of New Homes at Bromford Flagship LiveWest said: \u201cIt\u2019s been a pleasure to work with Northern Trust and Savills to see this land purchase through. We\u2019ll be developing this site into an all-affordable housing scheme, to be built by our in-house construction team, and we\u2019re really excited to see the homes and community grow and take shape as we bring more much-needed affordable housing to Wychavon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kate McCree, associate director at Savills said: \u201cFollowing a successful public marketing campaign, which generated a good number of high-quality proposals, we are very pleased to have secured Bromford Flagship LiveWest as the selected development partner at Brewers Lane, Badsey. It was a pleasure to work with the landowners and Northern Trust Land Ltd and together we look forward to seeing the delivery of the proposed
