{"id":2111576,"date":"2026-05-08T11:59:47","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T10:59:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/?p=2111576"},"modified":"2026-05-08T11:59:47","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T10:59:47","slug":"worcestershire-college-enters-partnership-to-support-skill-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/news\/2111576-worcestershire-college-enters-partnership-to-support-skill-development","title":{"rendered":"Worcestershire college enters partnership to support skill development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW) has formed a three-year partnership with Scala, Worcester\u2019s new arts and cultural venue, to support skills development across key sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration will focus on careers in the arts, construction, business, and hospitality, alongside curriculum development and student opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Due to open in 2026, Scala will host a wide range of cultural and creative activity including live performance, film, music, exhibitions, talks and workshops.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership will focus on curriculum development, student engagement and workforce development, with Scala contributing to teaching input, guest lectures and industry placements.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Dowse, Principal and CEO at HoW College, said: \u201cThis partnership represents a significant step in aligning education with the evolving demands of several key industries, including construction, hospitality and the arts; it will also provide invaluable experience for our students to get real-life experience of the sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr Hannah Phillips, Chief Executive and Artistic Director at Scala said: \u201cScala aims to be a centre for excellence for skills and talent development. We are focused on removing barriers to accessing training and creative learning and providing pathways to employment for young people in Worcester. We are committed to retaining and developing talent in Worcester, supporting future thinking, new ideas and voices as well as driving talent in business modelling and innovation.
