{"id":2111892,"date":"2026-05-18T11:07:02","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T10:07:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/?p=2111892"},"modified":"2026-05-18T11:07:02","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T10:07:02","slug":"the-mount-tees-up-major-transformation-with-padel-powered-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/news\/2111892-the-mount-tees-up-major-transformation-with-padel-powered-expansion","title":{"rendered":"The Mount tees up major transformation with padel-powered expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mount Golf &amp; Country Club in Wolverhampton has stepped up its redevelopment programme with further investment across its golf, fitness, wellness and social facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Early 2026 has seen more than \u00a3150,000 invested in Hydrowick drainage systems installed across key greens, aimed at improving course performance and year-round playability.<\/p>\n<p>A further \u00a3200,000 has also been committed to upgraded changing facilities, including new sauna installations in both male and female areas.<\/p>\n<p>The latest milestone is the launch of The Padel Club at The Mount, a four-court facility featuring premium Spanish panoramic courts. The development represents an investment of more than \u00a3500,000 and expands the site\u2019s multi-sport offering.<\/p>\n<p>The project is part of a wider strategy to reposition the venue as a combined sport, leisure and hospitality destination, with future plans including a proposed \u00a33 million technology-led driving range and practice facility.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Bernard, director of The Mount Golf &amp; Country Club said: \u201cPadel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, but for us this is about far more than just courts. We wanted to create a true social destination where people can come together to play, train, relax, network, and enjoy themselves both on and off the court.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;With our sports bar, saunas, gym, adventure golf, golf course, outdoor terraces, and premium facilities all in one location, we believe we\u2019re creating something completely unique for Wolverhampton. The response so far has been incredible, and this is only the beginning of what we have planned for the club.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over the past two years, The Mount has continued to invest across its estate, including upgrades to course infrastructure, irrigation, machinery, hospitality and leisure amenities. The latest phase forms part of a long-term strategy to enhance year-round usability and broaden the venue\u2019s appeal to both members and the wider
