Cars On Screen, a specialist supplier of vehicles for film, television and commercial productions, is planning further growth after securing \u00a340,000 in funding.<\/p>\n
The funding has been secured through the Midlands Engine Investment Fund II (MEIF II), facilitated by BCRS Business Loans.<\/p>\n
The Stoke-on-Trent-based company will use the funding to acquire a DeLorean vehicle, widely recognised for its role in the Back to the Future film franchise, as part of plans to expand its fleet and diversify revenue opportunities.<\/p>\n
Founded by director Will Morris as a spin-off from IT consultancy Behind The Scenes, Cars On Screen initially focused on supplying vehicles to production companies working across film, television and advertising.<\/p>\n
The business has since broadened its offering to include period and specialist vehicles for weddings, school proms, exhibitions and fan events.<\/p>\n
The funding package will support the purchase of the DeLorean alongside associated costs including transportation, insurance and refurbishment, with the company aiming to capitalise on sustained consumer and commercial interest in the vehicle.<\/p>\n
Will Morris, director of Cars On Screen said: \u201cI have always loved Back To The Future, which was made iconic by its use of the DeLorean car. I wanted to buy a DeLorean and found one available for sale, so I needed finance to cover the purchase, along with transportation, insurance and repairs.<\/p>\n
\u201cI spoke to my accountant about finance opportunities and was put in touch with BCRS Business Loans via broker Beta Commercial Finance. I got on well with BCRS Business Loans, who were transparent and wanted to help as they could see my goal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am expecting the DeLorean to be a popular choice for hire, with conversations underway with a number of production companies, along with bookings being made for proms, weddings and fan conventions this summer. I am also hopeful that the vehicle will go up significantly in value.\u201d<\/p>\n
The funding was arranged through BCRS Business Loans, which delivers smaller business loans ranging from \u00a325,000 to \u00a3100,000 across the West Midlands under MEIF II.<\/p>\n
The fund, launched by the British Business Bank in 2024, is designed to improve access to finance for smaller businesses and support regional growth through investment in innovation and enterprise.<\/p>\n
