The West Midlands continues to stand as one of the UK’s most dynamic and resilient business regions, with investment playing a central role in driving growth, creating jobs and strengthening long-term economic performance.

That contribution is now being formally recognised through entries for the Investment category at TheBusinessDesk.com’s West Midlands Business of the Year Awards 2027.

The category is designed to spotlight businesses that have delivered significant, high-impact investment activity over the past year – including funding rounds, acquisitions, infrastructure development, expansion projects and strategic dealmaking – all of which contribute directly to business growth and regional prosperity.

The awards, supported by partners PwC, Armour Coaching and TheBusinessGrind, celebrate business achievement across the region, with the International Trade category designed to highlight firms that help strengthen the West Midlands economy through global growth, overseas partnerships and market expansion.""

The annual awards programme has become a flagship event in the regional business calendar, recognising organisations of all sizes for their contribution to innovation, investment and economic impact.

Alex Turner, joint managing director of TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “The West Midlands Business of the Year Awards continues to be one of the highlights of our year, and one of the highlights of the regional calendar.

“We want to hear from businesses of every size and sector. If you’ve had a strong year, if you’ve grown, innovated, invested or made a difference to your community, this is your chance to have that recognised. We would encourage you to enter.”

A rigorous judging process will see all entrants visited by members of the judging panel before a shortlist is drawn up. Shortlisted businesses will then present directly to judges ahead of the winners being revealed at a black-tie awards dinner on February 25, 2027.

Last year’s winners across the awards included Rem3dy Health, Likewise Group, Aurrigo, Intercity, Leek Building Society and Walsall Wheelbarrow Company.
