This is a direct response to British homeowners choosing to take control of their energy future.

“That is something we are genuinely proud to be part of.”

Alongside the recruitment announcement, the company has appointed Chris Day as group managing director of Project Better Energy, its parent company.

The role will oversee the group’s commercial renewable energy operations as it expands across both residential and commercial markets.

Chris Day said the sector was entering a “critical inflection point”.

“The commercial sector is at a critical inflection point. Businesses are under increasing pressure to manage energy costs and meet sustainability commitments, and the solutions are there to help them do it.

“Joining at a moment when the group is investing in growth, in people, and in its long-term capability is a fantastic opportunity.”

Project Solar said its own customer data suggests a typical household installing a full solar system can save around £1,032 in the first year.

Paul Atherton added that rising cost pressures are increasingly driving adoption.

“That conversation has shifted,” he said.

“People are coming to us because the numbers make sense right now, not necessarily just because they want to do the right thing for the environment.

“Solar has become the smart financial decision for most British homeowners, and this recruitment drive is our response to that reality.”

Burton-based Project Solar, the UK’s largest independent solar panel installer, has announced 80 new roles nationwide as demand
