BGF has strengthened its Midlands team with the appointment of Tom Herbert as an investor, adding further corporate finance experience to its Nottingham and Birmingham operations.<\/p>\n
Herbert will focus on identifying and assessing new investment opportunities, supporting transactions and working with management teams as their businesses develop.<\/p>\n
He joins BGF after 11 years at KPMG, including five years in its Midlands corporate finance team. During that time, he advised owner-managed and private equity-backed businesses on acquisitions and disposals across sectors including technology, media, business services and consumer products.<\/p>\n
His work has focused particularly on businesses across the East and West Midlands. He previously qualified as a Chartered Accountant.<\/p>\n

The appointment comes as BGF continues to increase its investment activity across the UK and Ireland. The investor recently passed \u00a35bn in total investments and has committed to investing a further \u00a3300m in the Midlands over the next five years.<\/p>\n
