{"id":2115969,"date":"2026-08-21T10:31:46","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T09:31:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/?p=2115969"},"modified":"2026-08-21T10:31:46","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T09:31:46","slug":"shakespeare-martineau-lands-spot-on-government-legal-panel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/news\/2115969-shakespeare-martineau-lands-spot-on-government-legal-panel","title":{"rendered":"Shakespeare Martineau lands spot on government legal panel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Shakespeare Martineau has been appointed as a supplier on the Government Commercial Agency&#8217;s Legal Panel for Public Sector, opening up new opportunities to support public sector organisations across the UK.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The three-year framework, which runs until July 2029 with a possible two-year extension, gives public bodies a compliant route to access legal services across a range of specialisms, spanning central and local government, education, health, infrastructure, emergency services, charities and other third sector organisations.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/?s=Shakespeare+Martineau\">The Birmingham-headquartered firm<\/a> has been appointed to three lots on the framework: focused legal support, covering areas including charities, commercial and contracts, construction, debt recovery, education, employment, energy, regulatory and real estate; litigation and disputes, including significant and complex cases; and costs lawyer services, covering both routine and complex costs work, including specialist clinical negligence costs.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uk.linkedin.com\/in\/stephenpscott1\">Stephen Scott<\/a>, real estate disputes partner at Shakespeare Martineau and lead partner overseeing the firm&#8217;s work on the framework, said the appointment reflected the strength of its specialist teams and gave the firm a route to deepen its public sector relationships while reaching new clients. He said public sector organisations were managing significant change and investment, particularly in areas such as energy, infrastructure, real estate and highways, where the firm already had
