Sodexo has acquired Atherstone-based workplace caterer Olive, which employs around 1,000 people and runs more than 150 catering contracts across the UK.<\/p>\n

Olive<\/a> was founded in 2004 and provides on-site catering for workplaces, with a focus on fresh food. It started with a single client, which it still works with today. Sodexo says the deal strengthens its workplace and food services offering. The financial terms have not been disclosed.<\/p>\n

Jean Renton, CEO of Sodexo UK & Ireland, said Olive has built a strong reputation and long-standing client relationships, and that the two businesses can now “achieve an accelerated growth ambition”.<\/p>\n

Olive’s co-founders, Sally-Ann Bradley, Andrew Norrie and Damon Brown, said they wanted a partner that shared their values and had the scale to support the business’s next stage of growth.<\/p>\n

Norrie said: “After more than 20 years of building Olive, it was important for us to find the right home for the business, our people and our customers.”<\/p>\n

Grant Thornton advised Olive’s shareholders on the sale, with a team led by director Harry Gabriel, supported by associate director Carolyn Guildford and manager Usman Khattak. Mills & Reeve provided legal advice, led by partner Junaid Haroon with Jade Allen and Abbie Miller.<\/p>\n

Gabriel said: “Olive is an exceptional business and a true founder success story. The founders had a clear vision for the future of the business and for the legacy they wanted to create.”<\/p>\n

The two companies say they are working on a smooth transition so that clients, staff, suppliers and partners continue to receive the same service. Sodexo employs around 29,000 people in the UK and Ireland.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
