{"id":2118938,"date":"2026-11-03T07:13:22","date_gmt":"2026-11-03T07:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/?p=2118938"},"modified":"2026-11-03T07:13:50","modified_gmt":"2026-11-03T07:13:50","slug":"likewise-sales-jump-36.7-as-headlam-deal-lifts-profit-outlook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/news\/2118938-likewise-sales-jump-36.7-as-headlam-deal-lifts-profit-outlook","title":{"rendered":"Headlam rescue pays off as Likewise sales surge 36.7%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">Flooring distributor Likewise Group expects full-year profits to be materially ahead of market forecasts after sales rose 36.7% in October.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.likewiseplc.com\/\">The Birmingham-based business<\/a> said sales are up 22.8% so far this year, and it now expects pre-tax profit of at least \u00a36m for 2026.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The update follows its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/news\/2117768-14.9m-homecoming-as-likewise-founders-buy-up-their-old-firm-headlams-assets\">\u00a314.9m acquisition of assets from collapsed rival Headlam<\/a> last month. These include the 90,000 sq ft Thatcham distribution centre in Berkshire, premium carpet brand Crucial Trading, and the trade and assets of Concept Flooring in West Bromwich and Stoke-on-Trent.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Around 110 employees across Thatcham, Crucial Trading and Concept Flooring are expected to transfer to the group.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Chief executive Tony Brewer said: \u201cThe increased sales revenue combined with operational gearing and subsequent improved profitability provides the board with confidence that Likewise Group will be materially ahead of current market forecasts for the 2026 full year with profit before tax expected to be a minimum of \u00a36 million.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Concept Flooring\u2019s West Bromwich and Stoke-on-Trent sites have restocked and have \u201cnow pretty much resumed \u2018service as normal\u2019\u201d, Brewer said. Crucial Trading\u2019s bespoke rug manufacturing operation in Kidderminster is also processing incoming orders.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Thatcham will become a key part of Likewise\u2019s logistics network from this month. The group will add 16 delivery trucks this year, taking its fleet to 192, with more planned in the first half of 2027.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">It also comes after NatWest <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/news\/2118237-natwest-backs-likewise-with-6m-as-corby-hub-prepares-to-open\">provided a \u00a36m funding package<\/a> to support Likewise\u2019s new distribution hub in Corby, Northamptonshire, which is due to open in January 2027.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Brewer added: \u201cWhile the full year 2027 is very difficult to predict, the board is confident that the various aspects of the acquisition, combined with the trajectory of the existing businesses, will progress the group rapidly towards its next objective of \u00a3300 million sales
