Persimmon would build 175 of the homes and Vistry the remaining 91, across a mix of tenures ranging from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom detached houses.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The plans also include a 66-bed care home, to be delivered by Vistry, along with landscaped public spaces and improved walking and cycling routes linking the development to the neighbouring community.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The wider 139-hectare site, home to a coal-fired power station until its closure in 2016, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/westmidlands\/news\/2101277-vistry-to-transform-139-hectare-former-power-station-site-into-over-2000-homes\">was bought by Vistry from ENGIE last year<\/a>. It already has outline planning permission for up to 2,300 homes, open space and infrastructure, granted in April 2021, and infrastructure work is under way.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Joe Turner, managing director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands, said: \u201cSubmitting these plans represents an important milestone in the regeneration of this area. This development is breathing new life into one of the Midlands\u2019 most significant brownfield redevelopment projects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Phil McHugh, executive chair for Yorkshire, North Midlands and West at Vistry, said: \u201cWith infrastructure work underway, momentum is building across this important regeneration scheme. These plans mark another step towards delivering much-needed homes and facilities for local people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The plans will now be considered by Cannock Chase District
