All is not lost – Mr Brown is here to save us!

If I said the word ‘home schooling,’ many of us would shudder in horror, living in hope that we would never hear those words uttered ever again.

Over the last 15 months, since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, parents have had to adapt and learn new skills; skills they thought had been safely packed away in a secure box a long time ago, never to surface again. Just the very whisper of algebra or logarithms, now makes us quiver and dash to find the nearest exit.

It is probably best that we do not mention A Level and GCSE cancellations, which is another subject altogether; especially for private candidates who had been studying A Levels online and were already forgotten in the 2020 exam fiasco. Let’s hope that has all been rectified for 2021 results day.

Well we can’t change the past, but we certainly can try and make the future better. As a starter, early years Reception Class learners can access classes with Mr Brown. Mr Brown is the friendliest of teachers and has prepared all of his home schooling reception year classes, ready for the September 2021 intake, enabling home schoolers to start at the very beginning and take the stress away from parents who are constantly tracking down resources to help them.

Technically Reception year is not compulsory but with many 4 to 5 year olds starting school at the beginning of this year, it makes sense to provide them with education, even if it isn’t in a conventional school. This will ensure that when Key Stage 1 begins, all learners are on the same level and parents can continue to home school or register at a local school.

Mr Brown won’t be replacing you as the home schooler but will simply be providing all of the learning materials, including videos, worksheets, activities and reading a fun story at the end of every lesson. All lessons are structured and easy to follow so that you haven’t got to work this out for yourself.

This learning, provides a positive and engaging experience, becoming more difficult as lessons progress. Even spellings tests will provide an enjoyable experience, what more could you ask for?
