Open T10 Finisher Chasing First Place in Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship Pro-Am

European Tour golfer Daniel Brown is chasing Jonathan Cheetham for pole position in the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship Pro-Am at Coventry’s Nailcote Hall.

The 29-year-old, who finished in the Top 10 at The 152nd Open, Scotland, last month, played alongside Clitheroe Golf Club’s Iain Hackett, collecting 50 points and finishing four under par to come in at joint third.

Brown finished the day tied with Robert Harris, Fraser Mann, Philip Price and Philip Archer, who ended level on points and also four under.

Cheetham put in an incredible solo display, claiming pole position amongst the pros at six under par and with 48 points. Thetford Golf Club’s Jake Gunby finished top of the amateur leaderboard, ending the day level on par and with 36 points to take him and teammate Ashley Mason to joint 8th.

In another morning highlight, Cheetham potted the competition’s second hole-in-one in as many days (following Simon Harbridge’s Celeb-AM opener on Tuesday), sinking the ball with perfection at hole 5.

Day 2 of the Farmfoods British Par 3’s Pro-AM kicks off on Thursday morning, as the professionals battle it out for the final £50,000 prize pot, with the final group of second-placed Jarmo Sandelin and Cheetham teeing off at 3:30pm in the historic competition’s 91st outing.
