Yorkshire now UK medical gateway
YORKSHIRE healthcare companies were given the opportunity to forge partnerships with their Chinese counterparts at a unique event in Leeds.
Delegates at the UK-China evening Symposium and Partnering event, organised by Medilink (Yorkshire and Humber), heard leading speakers from China and the UK including Dr Jiang Feng – president of the Chinese Association of Medical Device Manufacturers, and Sir Chris O'Donnell – member of the Ministerial Medical Technology Strategy Group and York University pro-chancellor.
The event was backed by the White Rose Health Innovation Partnership, UK Trade and Investment, The Health Technologies KTN and Yorkshire Forward.
It follows Medilink's visit to China in April 2007 to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, which puts in place arrangements for promoting exchange and co-operation in trade, technology and research and development between the member companies/organisations.
The collaboration now sees Yorkshire and Humber as a UK regional gateway to further strengthen the medical devices industry in the UK and China.
