Taste of success for Lewis & Cooper

LUXURY cakes and puddings created by gourmet food purveyor Lewis & Cooper will soon be on sale in stores of kitchenwear specialist Lakeland.

The Northallerton-based food retailer, which makes more than 20,000 fruit cakes and 44,000 plum puddings a year, has also secured an order from the National Trust.

Boxed biscuits carrying the Lewis & Cooper brand will now go on sale at the Trust’s York and Skipton stores as well as at visitor attractions such as Fountains Abbey and Brimham Rocks.

Around six thousand of the firm’s 450g Great Taste Award winning vegetarian pudding will be on Lakeland shelves as well as a gluten-free pudding.

Victoria Howard, Lewis & Cooper’s general manager, said: “We’re delighted to be able to take our top-tasting puddings, which are all made in our kitchens here in Northallerton, to a wider audience across the country.”

Lewis & Cooper stocks thousands of lines, including its multi-award winning hand-made plum puddings, luxury fruit cakes and massive range of world-famous hampers. It also has a store in Yarm.
