New SME leadership programme launched

THE Northern Leadership Academy (NLA) has launched a new programme to help Yorkshire’s manufacturing companies develop their entrepreneurial skills.

The Leadership Journey programme is based on addressing specific issues that are impacting on an individual business leader or company.

According to Yorkshire Forward supported NLA many company directors from across the region have come together over the past year to share their problems with their peers, which have generated genuine business solutions to build better businesses.

The programme will take place at NLA centres at Leeds Metropolitan University, Wakefield College, Huddersfield University and York St John University.

Jeff Gold, a business lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University, said: “A major advantage of the new programme is that participants can look at the real problems which concern them, rather than considering hypothetical ones, and focus on real solutions through group discussion, coaching and access to experts.

“Put simply, the Leadership Journey it is about solving problems and getting things done.”

Directors enrolling of the programme will attend action learning sets, networking events, master classes and join a number of social networks to communicate together as a group solving problems.

Those joining the course can also opt to appoint a mentor to provide additional advice and support.
