Latest appointments: Ward Hadaway double, WGN promotes and Hempsons grows
COMMERCIAL lawyer Philip Jordan has joined the Leeds office of law firm Ward Hadaway.
Also joining the office is employment law solicitor Zahir Qayum.
Mr Jordan rejoins the firm having been a partner until he left in 2005. He has more than 25 years experience dealing with company and commercial matters for clients across the globe.
He joins from Watson Burton and is company secretary to one of the world’s largest suppliers of plant and machinery to the steel-making industry, and sits as a board member of the Nuclear Institute’s North East branch.
Andrew Hoyle, lead partner for Ward Hadaway’s Leeds office, said: “Philip’s recruitment adds another dimension to our offering in Leeds, enabling us to offer clients access to a wealth of international expertise.

LEEDS-BASED chartered accountants, Winburn Glass Norfolk (WGN), has promoted Claire Turner to director of personal taxation services.
She joined the firm at the start of January 2002 and is a qualified associate of The Chartered Institute of Taxation and has more than 15 years of personal tax experience
As well as tax compliance Ms Turner is involved in all aspects of tax planning but focusing, in particular, on share schemes, EIS and Trust work for high net worth individuals.

HEALTH and social care law firm Hempsons has appointed Paul Burns, former chief officer of The Family Health Services Appeal Unit in Harrogate and promoted Richard Nolan and Andrew Davidson to partner.
Mr Burns joins the Healthcare Advisory team at the firm’s Harrogate office and has more than 10 years experience as a senior manager in the NHS and has recently been appointed to lead and Chair the newly formed DH Regulatory Advisory Group on Pharmaceutical Regulations.
Richard Nolan is a commercial contracts specialist, who heads up the firm’s commercial dispute resolution team while Andrew Davidson is head of the six-strong employment team.
